Mukti is a National level annual technical symposium on Linux and related Free and Open Source Software(FOSS) to be held on January11-13,2008 at NIT Durgapur,West Bengal. Students from all over India get an excellent platform to interact with each other and hone their skills in this field Mukti '08 is the continuation of the journey which was started two years back, on the long and winding road of making Linux and Open Source more widely acceptable to the ordinary lay man and the student community in particular. The aim of this event is to enrich the knowledge of the students and encourage them to explore the wide avenues provided by Linux and the Open Source Community. There are also plenty of other activities for students not interested in competitions. Many informal and fun events, including water sports, take place around the clock, often going on until late at night. There are workshops, plays, films, and dance performances for those interested.
